CSI Recruiting is working with a small, privately-owned oil & gas company based in Houston (West of downtown), supporting their need to hire an experienced Senior Geologist. The firm has a small staff of highly experienced professionals, in addition to significant non-operating producing assets and a small collection of operated wells.
The goal of this Senior Geologist hire is to generate opportunities for investment and identify areas of improvement within the existing assets. This is an In-Office 5 days a 5-day-a-week role, working hand-in-hand with C-level management and the company's Senior Engineers.
The Senior Geologist will be expected to provide a high level of geologic expertise for the evaluation, development planning, funding, budgeting, and execution of various oil and gas subsurface and surface activities pertaining to all company assets and properties.
- Identify and develop internally generated prospects within basins and plays nationwide.
- Prepare and deliver professional geologic presentations, including maps, cross-sections, regional geology studies and other exhibits to support recommendations both internally and externally.
- Provide geoscience technical support for A&D project execution and business development
- Integrate and interpret multiple geologic, petrophysical, geophysical, engineering, completion, and production data into a concise geologic model.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor activity and geology within targeted basins and plays.
- Perform effectively and cooperatively within the multidisciplinary groups of professionals
- Develop and manage the new exploration projects, developing prospect i ve areas, and evaluating new plays .
- Establish and i nitiate management objectives, joint venture operations, and exploration programs.
- 20+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry with a focus on a geology career ladder.
- Master's degree in Geology preferred.
- Fully competent and experienced with standard and advanced geological tasks , including mapping, strati graphic correlations, cross-section generation,integration of welllogs,seismic,remote sensing, geochemistry, and production data into a complete geologic interpretation.
- Strong understanding andexperienceinexploringanddevelopingbothconventional and unconventional plays.
- Proficiencywithgeoscience & mapping softwaresuchas
PETRA,Kingdom, Geographix, ARCGIS, etc . - Be commercially orientedandunderstandthe fundamentals of cashflow,economics, and rateof return,as well astheabilityto assess technical risk qualitatively and quantitatively.
- Demonstratedabilitytomanageconflictingprioritiesandrequests,andmanagemultiple projects.
- Ability to take initiative and function independently, balanced with strong teaming skills.
- Strongwrittenandoralcommunication skills. Must beableto present anddefendgeologic analyses to large anddiversegroups.
- Requires excellent Interpersonalskillswith the abilitytomaintainrelationshipsatalllevels of the organization.
- Workdirectlyattimeswithpartners,reserve auditors,andbanksonconfidential evaluations.
