Job DescriptionA Security Officer - Government Patrol Rounds in Houston, TX serves and safeguards clients in a range of industries such as Government. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part‑Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security‑related incidents and maintain a secure environment for all.
You will remain visible throughout your shift, provide excellent customer service, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors.

- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help deter potential incidents and identify unusual activity.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to help deter unauthorized access or suspicious behavior.
- Report and document any security‑related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences as required by site procedures.
- Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when necessary.
- Remain alert and observant throughout the shift to help deter potential problems and provide a visible presence around the location.
- Follow all instructions and protocols provided by Allied Universal and the site management.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
