The Security Officer II is responsible for patrolling, protecting and securing all Harris Health System buildings and grounds, promoting safety and security at all locations. The officer responds to crisis intervention team activations, prevents patient elopements and assists medical staff with patient restraint as requested.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) year experience in security, criminal justice, military, healthcare or related experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (above average)
- Typing 20 WPM and proficiency with MS Word and PC
- IAHSS Basic Security Officer Training Program completed within six months of employment
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Basic Life Support from a hospital-based AHA program
- Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) certification or equivalent (recertified within 30 days of hire)
- Registered by the Texas Private Security Bureau within 90 days of employment
- Weekends, holidays, flexible schedule, overtime allowed
- Must be available during disaster situations (E‑1)
- Proficiency in the use of computers and handheld radio systems required
PC based electronic access control, CCTV, parking systems, handheld radio systems and patrol vehicle.
