Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrol Specialist
Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, offers a rewarding career for a Part‑time Security Officer in Houston, TX. As an Armed Retail Patrol Specialist you will patrol retail locations, deter incidents, provide outstanding customer service, and support retail staff while carrying a firearm and operating a vehicle as required.
Position Type: Part‑time
Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour
Schedule: Day Time (Thu 07:00 AM – 04:00 PM, Fri 07:00 AM – 04:30 PM, Sun 03:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
- Provide customer service and carry out security procedures, responding to emergencies.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and perimeter.
- Respond to incidents in a calm, problem‑solving manner and document actions taken.
- Assist with access control and monitor entrances/exits to deter unauthorized entry.
- Collaborate with retail staff to address security concerns and support a secure environment.
- Observe and report unusual activity, hazards, or property damage.
- Follow all company, client, and legal requirements for firearm use while on duty.
- 5+ years of security‑related experience.
- 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security experience, or a college degree.
- Armed guard card or license.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Level III armed certification for Texas roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to background investigation, drug screen, and industry‑specific security training.
