Marathon Petroleum is seeking a Security Specialist to join our team of dedicated professionals safeguarding one of the nation’s leading energy enterprises. * KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* * Manage Physical Security:
Oversee security operations for corporate offices, including access control, surveillance systems, and emergency response planning.
* Conduct Risk Assessments:
Identify vulnerabilities, evaluate threats, and implement mitigation strategies to protect people and assets.
* Deliver Security Training:
Develop and lead awareness programs to educate employees on safety protocols and incident prevention.
* Collaborate Across Teams:
Work closely with business units, HR, and leadership to align security practices with organizational goals.
* Ensure Compliance:
Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements and internal security policies.
* Support Investigations:
Assist with fact-finding and incident reviews, applying investigative best practices.
* Perform other duties, as assigned.
* Travel up to 35%

* EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

*** Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in law enforcement, military or security field
*
* SKILLS:

*** Strong understanding of the practices associated with the protection of property and individuals
* Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the risk assessment process
* Displays in-depth knowledge of security incident prevention strategies and management
* Fully competent in major security regulatory compliance programs
* Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of investigative interviewing and fact-finding processes; conceptually understands Code of Conduct investigation processes
* Strong problem solving and analytical skill
* Ability to use tact and diplomacy appropriate to the situation
* Ability to maintain effective work relationships with all levels of colleagues
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* * This position belongs to a job progression with increasing responsibility, competency and skill level.  Final position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.
