- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, motors, controls, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using proper testing devices and methods.
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical systems and components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company safety standards.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Work with clients, contractors, and other trades to coordinate repairs and installations.
- Complete accurate service reports, work orders, and documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Mentor apprentices and support their on‑the‑job training and skill development.
- Valid State of Texas Journeyman Electrician License (required).
- Minimum 4 years of commercial electrical experience.
- Strong knowledge of the NEC and electrical safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Experience with electrical testing equipment (multimeters, meggers, etc.).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts at various heights.
- Stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
- Work indoors and outdoors in a variety of conditions.
- Experience in commercial service environments (schools, hospitals, data centers, etc.).
- Low‑voltage, high‑voltage, controls, or lighting retrofit experience.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
