Summary
Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic III (MEP) at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. The role supports the Engineering team and involves maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across the park’s four venues: NRG Center, NRG Stadium, NRG Astrodome, and NRG Arena.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all kitchen mechanical, refrigeration and chilled water and boiler equipment and systems owned or operated by NRG Park.
- Perform coil cleaning and preventative maintenance on all types of equipment and may repair fountain water systems and related mechanical systems.
- Handle domestic hot and cold‑water systems and related equipment, sanitary pumps, tanks, fittings, and valves; surge (fire) supply tanks, plumbing supplies, and hoses.
- Perform minor structural and mechanical tasks, limited carpentry, electrical maintenance, and other duties as needed.
- Identify parts or machines that need new parts or replacement and place orders as necessary.
- Participate in all safety‑related classes and/or meetings.
- Assist Lead and/or Manager in training other maintenance staff.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems operations and maintenance.
- Proficiency with all tools required for the job.
- Skilled craftsman with troubleshooting skills.
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical wiring, and ventilating systems.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, motor schematics.
- Experience operating and repairing HVAC equipment.
- Adherence to safety precautions, building codes, regulations, and emergency procedures.
- Organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Licenses, certificates, or training required by local, state, or national authorities.
- Independent work with exercise of judgment and initiative.
- Effective relationship management with clients, employees, and patrons.
- Analytical problem‑solving and decision making.
- Good written, verbal, and computer skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
- Capability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- High School Diploma/GED required or (five) years’ comparable experience plus required related experience may be considered in lieu of diploma.
- Five years operating and maintaining HVAC, water, plumbing, and mechanical systems in a commercial/industrial facility.
- Previous experience operating Genie Lift, Forklift, JLG Boom‑lift, and other motorized lifting equipment preferred.
- EPA Universal Certification – Required.
- Registered Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Certification – Required.
- Apprentice Electrician License – Required.
- OSHA 10 – Preferred.
- Boiler Operating Permit – Required.
- Energy Management and Controls Certification – Preferred.
- HVAC and Plumbing Water Treatment Certification – Required.
- Refrigeration Systems and Controls Certification – Required.
- Uphold Legends Global safety standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate effectively with others.
- Operate standard office equipment and PC(s) with MS Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems.
- Licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
- Availability for on‑call, after‑hours, holidays, and weekend support.
- Willingness to work extended and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical duties, including lifting, carrying, moving, and climbing.
- Must lift 75 lbs.
- Must stand and work on feet for 8‑10 hours a day.
- Must stretch and reach as required.
