Job OverviewWe are looking for a talented Field Service Marine Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Houston, TX.
Sign‑on Bonus: $5000
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair issues in marine diesel engines, including fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and belt inspections.
- Perform engine overhauls and rebuilds as needed.
- Conduct sea trials and work with marine control systems.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
- Repair or replace faulty components including starters, alternators, injectors, and turbochargers.
- Test and calibrate engines.
- Install new diesel engines and auxiliary systems on vessels.
- Upgrade existing systems to improve performance or meet regulatory standards.
- Ensure proper alignment and integration with propulsion and electrical systems.
- Maintain detailed service records and prepare maintenance logs and inspection reports.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to clients or team members.
- Collaborate with other technicians and departments to complete projects efficiently.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians when needed.
- Engage customers courteously and professionally, ensuring prompt and efficient service.
- Follow documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards.
- Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or supervisors.
- Complete required documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents.
- Identify additional service opportunities with customers.
- Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies and report any issues or incidents.
- Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
- Locally valid driving permit
- Passport and TWIC Card (required)
- May require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
- Basic level field service work experience
- Intermediate knowledge or experience with engine products
- Customer service experience
- Keep company credit card expenses up to date.
- Keep driving license, TWIC card, passport up to date.
- Submit all service reports and time sheets daily.
- A CDL may be required upon hire.
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older.
- A current valid license is required.
- This role requires a 5‑year motor vehicle report free from major violations.
- This role requires a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). years of driving experience.
- This role is subject to DOT driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
Min Salary: $55,200 –
Max Salary: $82,800
