Overview
We are looking for a Level IV Generator Technician. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel and natural gas generators and engines ranging from 20 kW up to 500 kW. This role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and providing quality repairs of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures.

What You’ll Do (Your Day-to-Day)- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel and natural gas generators and engines ranging from 20 kW up to 500 kW.
- Identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and provide quality repairs of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and assist others in performing intermediate and advanced corrective maintenance tasks.
- Use knowledge of engine/generator mechanical and electrical operation to perform tasks or assist others; replace batteries, belts, hoses; change and top off oil and filters.
- Complete service reports, PM checklists, and timecards accurately and legibly for service accounting needs.
- Respond to emergency calls as needed and work a flexible schedule; travel to job sites and provide detailed reports and timecards upon completion.
- Evaluate, test, diagnose, and troubleshoot problems on gas or diesel engines and generators; provide recommendations and carry out repairs; document all procedures and maintain customer relations.
- Perform load bank testing with understanding of Reactive/Resistive testing per NFPA regulations or customer requests.
- Troubleshoot block heaters and battery chargers; perform advanced troubleshooting and assist or lead others in complex tasks.
- Perform control panel conversions, re-tapping generator ends, and replacing faulty breakers; prepare reports to maintain equipment records.
- Communicate with customers regarding equipment status and ensure strong relationships; coordinate with Supervisor on technical issues and scheduling.
- Make recommendations to improve Service team efficiency.
- Maintain knowledge and practice safe working activities in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations; report unsafe conditions or acts; wear PPE as required.
- Provide and use own tools as necessary; attend training sessions; perform other duties as assigned.
- Lead and train lower-level technicians in preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance; supervise safe execution of tasks with risk of injury.

Requirements What We’re Looking For Education- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Graduation from Technician/Maintenance training program preferred
- Possess a valid Texas driver’s license
- Minimum 15 years in a related field
