Houston, TX.

Property:
The Houston Marriott Westchase, a 604‑room, full‑service Marriott with extensive event space.

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and HVAC systems.
• Ensure proper operation of all hotel equipment, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, plumbing, pool equipment and HVACs.
• Install, repair and maintain all types of wiring (electrical, data, communication) and lighting/intercom systems.
• Perform diagnostics on electrical components and controls of machinery or other commercial equipment.
• Respond with a sense of urgency to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and provide room status updates to minimize disruptions to hotel operations.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulations, following lock‑out/tag‑out and other safety measures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Due to the 24/7 operation of the hotel, employees may need to work any shift, including weekends and holidays, and assist with other operational requirements as requested by management.

• Ability to effectively speak, read, and comprehend instructions in English.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to handle workplace problems, anticipating and resolving issues.
• Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Adaptability to unexpected changes, making quick decisions in high‑pressure situations.
• Moves materials and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. and lifts up to 50 lbs.
• Capable of working in dirty, dusty, or uncomfortable surroundings, including varying temperatures, noise levels, and hazardous materials.
• Can remain standing or walking during shift duration.
• Works in and around fixed equipment and machinery, including lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Moves through various hotel areas, including mechanical rooms, guest rooms, and public areas, often climbing stairs.
• Has frequent lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, and arm reaching.
• Adheres strictly to all safety regulations and standards.

• Relevant certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or building maintenance preferred.

• At least one year of experience in general facility or building maintenance, preferably in a large hotel or hospitality setting.
• Experience in all maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and painting.
• Experience and safety knowledge using hand and power tools.

Pay rate: $18.25 per hour.
