Journeyman Plumber – Polk Mechanical Company

Position OverviewThis role involves the installation, modification, and repair of a wide range of plumbing systems in commercial environments. Per diem is provided for travel-related expenses.
Key Responsibilities- Install, modify, and repair utility, supply, and disposal systems
- Work with systems including:
- Sewage, water, gas, and oil lines
- Compressed air, vacuum, and acid systems
- Fixtures and equipment such as water closets, water heaters, hydrants, valves, and pumps
- Read and interpret blueprints to lay out plumbing systems for underground rough-in and top-out phases
- Install DWV (Drain, Waste, Vent), domestic water piping (hot and cold), and acid waste systems
- Install natural gas and medical gas systems (vacuum, O₂, medical air, nitrogen)
- Set plumbing fixtures for commercial buildings and healthcare facilities
- Perform soldering, brazing, threading of steel pipe, and use of Pro Press
- Conduct pressure testing and leak detection procedures
- Cut openings in structures using hand and power tools
- Install underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems
- Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial plumbing
- Completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship program
- Valid state plumbing license or eligibility to sit for the Texas exam
- Prior experience in HVAC/mechanical systems in a commercial setting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plumbing codes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
