This entry‑level position assists facility personnel with various maintenance tasks, including safety, preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs.

FLSA Status

Non‑exempt.

• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• Entry‑level knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, heating, and cooling trade skills.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and coworkers.
• Ability to complete work within designated time frames.
• Demonstrates skill competency through ongoing assessments and performance evaluations.

• Assist with routine inspections and identify maintenance opportunities.
• Retrieve repair parts, shop tools, and other items as specified and assist with daily facility operations.
• Assist with general maintenance repair and preventive maintenance inspections for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems in compliance with codes.
• Follow safety standards, policies, and procedures established for the department and hospital.
• Use tools and equipment efficiently and safely.
• Assist with capturing accurate documentation of work orders.
• Maintain use and care of commonly used equipment and tools.
• Participate in in‑service programs and continuing education.
