Senior Mechatronics Reliability Technician

Senior Mechatronics Reliability Technician Why join Neopal? Because we’ve reimagined what industrial wood-products manufacturing can be—clean, organized, automated, and sustainability-led. Our Houston facility blends robotics, computerized controls, and custom-built machinery inside the only known LEED Silver certified pallet manufacturing facility in the world.

Mission Elevate reliability across high-speed assembly, lumber remanufacturing, material handling, and logistics by combining sharp diagnostics with disciplined preventive and predictive maintenance. Your success is measured in uptime, OEE, and lasting fixes—not band-aids.

Core Responsibilities Triage and resolve mechatronic issues across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation domains—quickly and safely.

Design and continuously refine PM/PdM strategies, schedules, and SOPs to reduce unplanned downtime.

Leverage the CMMS for PM execution, corrective work orders, asset history, spare parts, and traceable documentation.

Diagnose controls and power systems: PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, switches, relays, and industrial voltages (120/208/240/480 VAC).Perform root-cause analysis and implement engineered, permanent corrective actions.

Participate in and sometimes lead equipment upgrades—designing, fabricating, installing, and commissioning improvements.

Use welding, machining, and fabrication skills to build fixtures and enhancements that improve safety, quality, and throughput.

Advance condition-based maintenance by integrating performance monitoring and emerging tools/technologies.

Drive OEE improvements through data-driven maintenance and continuous improvement practices.

Own shop standards: 5S-level cleanliness, organization, and critical spares management.

Collaborate closely with Operations and Engineering; maintain excellence in LOTO, documentation, and workmanship while engaging in ongoing technical and safety training.

Qualifications Demonstrated strength in both industrial electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair.

Experience with high-speed automated machinery, conveyors, robotics, and material-handling systems.

Competence in pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, compressed air and filtration systems.

Expertise with diagnostic tools; able to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and OEM manuals.

Track record with PM/PdM programs, CMMS usage, equipment performance monitoring, and accurate maintenance records.

Hands-on proficiency in welding, metal fabrication, machining, CNC, and basic fixture/equipment design; capability to execute thoughtful machine mods.

Nice to have: maintenance experience with forklifts and other mobile industrial equipment.

Creative, resourceful, highly organized; comfortable setting priorities in a fast-moving production environment.

PC skills (Microsoft Office, maintenance software); bilingual English/Spanish a strong plus.

What’s in It for You Competitive base pay plus additional performance-based compensation tied to clear operational goals.

Medical, dental, vision; 401(k) with company match; paid vacation and personal time.

Performance-based bonus opportunities and continuous technical/professional development.

Impact: your ideas and craftsmanship directly improve reliability, safety, and output.
