Position Summary

Keep our mobile hydration units powered, connected and online in the oilfield. In this hands‑on field role you’ll install, troubleshoot, maintain and commission electrical systems (480V–110V), instrumentation, automation and communications equipment. You’ll make sure data moves reliably from field devices to control systems and remote monitoring platforms over Modbus TCP, RS-232 and RS-485.

We’re looking for someone with solid electrical and instrumentation skills and a working knowledge of industrial networking. You should be comfortable working on your own at remote sites. I&E techs, industrial electricians, controls techs and military electrical or electronics veterans are encouraged to apply. Oilfield experience is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment, instrumentation, sensors, transmitters, control panels, PLCs and field devices.
  • Configure and troubleshoot industrial networks and protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, RS-232/RS-485), including switches, routers, modems and wireless access points.
  • Diagnose connectivity, signal, addressing and configuration issues, and support commissioning of automation and communications equipment.
  • Perform electrical testing, calibration and preventive maintenance, and read schematics, wiring diagrams and loop diagrams.
  • Verify accurate transmission of pressure, flow, temperature, tank level, production and alarm data.
  • Work with operations, automation, engineering and IT teams, and document equipment changes, network configurations and maintenance records.
  • Follow company safety policies and electrical/oilfield regulations, and take part in on‑call and emergency response as needed.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years in electrical, I&E, instrumentation, automation, telemetry or industrial communications work.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands‑on experience with PLCs, instrumentation or automation equipment, and the ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
  • Basic IP networking knowledge (addressing, switches, routers, Ethernet), or a willingness to learn it quickly.
  • Skilled with electrical test equipment such as multimeters and clamp meters.
  • Valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel and work in remote outdoor oilfield environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in oilfield production, drilling, completions, artificial lift or pipeline operations.
  • PLC/HMI programming, and router and network switch configuration.
  • Familiarity with Modbus, Ethernet/IP or similar protocols.
  • Knowledge of VFDs, motor controls, MCCs and electrical distribution.
  • Instrumentation calibration experience.
  • Relevant certifications, such as NCCER, I&E, automation or networking.
Key Competencies
  • Works independently at remote field sites with minimal supervision and makes sound decisions under time pressure.
  • Troubleshoots methodically, tracing electrical, instrumentation and network faults to the root cause.
  • Puts safety first around energized, rotating and pressurized systems, and speaks up about unsafe conditions.
  • Communicates clearly with operations, automation, engineering and IT teams, and documents work accurately.
  • Learns new equipment, protocols and control platforms quickly.
  • Takes ownership of outcomes and stays resilient through extended shifts, on‑call and callout work.
What We Offer
  • $38.00 – $44.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Overtime at 1.5× for hours over 40 per week
  • $60 per diem for each field day
  • Mileage reimbursement at the IRS business rate
  • Hands‑on exposure to oilfield automation, telemetry and remote monitoring systems

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
