As one of the nation's largest Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs, Baker Ripley Neighborhood Tax Centers (NTC) builds community stability through its free quality tax preparation and connecting families to resources. Each year, NTC prepares over 36,000 tax returns for low-income families at over 20 locations in high-need neighborhoods across the Greater Houston Area. We seek candidates who share our passion for helping others and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
The Intake Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the intake process and screening. The Intake Specialist greets clients as they enter the tax center, assists clients with completing the intake forms, and provides translation assistance as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Keep a sign-in sheet to provide orders for tax preparation
- Ensure all clients receive and complete all required intake forms
- Review client documents to ensure completeness and that the tax return is within the scope and income limits
- Provide translation services as needed by clients, volunteers, and staff
- Ensure the intake station is adequately stocked with clipboards, intake paperwork, pens, and other necessary supplies
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Candidate must be Bilingual in English and Spanish to be considered.
All candidates selected must complete training and certification provided by Neighborhood Tax Centers to continue employment.
