The role focuses on developing and maintaining mission‑critical Android applications for ~60,000 field users in the waste management industry, integrating with GPS, HERE Maps, AWS Cloud, and enterprise dispatch systems.

• Lead all phases of the Android development lifecycle: requirement analysis, design, architecture, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to capture new business functions and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and implement high‑level (HLD) and low‑level (LLD) architecture for mobile, cloud, and data‑center integrations.
• Ensure application scalability, modularity, and maintainability using MVVM, Jetpack components, Room, Coroutines, Dagger/Hilt, and other modern Android technologies.
• Support a wide range of Android OS versions and device types (tablets, ruggedized phones) and optimize for low‑bandwidth or offline environments.
• Implement real‑time GPS, mapping (HERE/Google Maps SDK), AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, Dynamo
  
  DB, S3, Cloud Watch), RESTful APIs, Web Socket, and MDM tools.
• Conduct performance tuning (crash analytics, ANR resolution, battery/memory optimization) and streamline background sync and job scheduling.
• Apply security best practices: data encryption, token management, and compliance with enterprise IT and data‑governance policies.
• Diagnose production issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement fixes to enhance resilience and availability.
• Prepare deployment, cut‑over, and go‑live plans; support pre/post go‑live activities.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation (SOPs, UAT guides, design documents, RCAs) and coordinate with team members during code reviews.

• 10 + years of Android Mobile engineering experience, with at least 2 + years in a lead role managing mobile application solutions.
• Domain knowledge in fleet, shipping, or transportation mobile user bases.
• Proficient in Kotlin (preferred) and Java; experience with MVVM, Jetpack, Room, Live Data, Coroutines, Dagger/Hilt.
• Strong knowledge of device & OS compatibility, GPS/mapping integration, and AWS cloud services.
• Hands‑on experience with crash analytics tools (Firebase Crashlytics, Splunk) and telemetry.
• Understanding of enterprise security, data privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and team‑leadership skills.
