Job Summary

Hope Media Group is seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer with experience in Type Script, PHP, or Java to join our growing technology team. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful digital projects that support our mission of inspiring hope through uplifting content. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, user-centric applications that serve our audience across multiple platforms.

Essential

Functions

Software Development and Implementation:

  • Design, implement, and maintain software solutions for web and mobile platforms using Type Script, PHP, or Java.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality digital experiences that align with business goals.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following industry best practices and participating in code reviews.
  • Build and maintain integrations with APIs and third‑party services to support the organization’s digital ecosystem.

Technical Problem Solving and Optimization:

  • Monitor and enhance application performance to deliver fast and reliable user experiences.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, ensuring the stability and security of applications.
  • Keep up with emerging trends, technologies, and frameworks in software development, especially related to Type Script, PHP, and Java.

Demonstrated Faith:

  • Committed to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be spiritually grounded and Biblically literate.
  • Comfortable praying for co‑workers in team meetings, leading spoken prayer, and participating in ministry prayer meetings and Bible studies.
  • Lives by the Christian principles defined by the Ministry Statement of Faith.
  • Participates in on‑air fundraisers and prays for donors as needed.
  • Has a passion for leveraging the platform of radio for evangelism and discipleship.
  • Exhibits a strong moral character.
  • Is an active member of a Bible believing local church.
Non‑Essential Functions

Requirements and Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience
  • 2‑4 years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on Type Script, PHP, or Java development.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Heart for Christian Ministry
  • Strong moral character
  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Spiritually grounded and working knowledge of scripture
  • Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following languages:
    Type Script, PHP, Java.
  • Experience with front‑end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) and/or back‑end frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Spring).
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgre

    SQL) and RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
  • Preferred (not required)
  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.
  • Understanding of media or nonprofit industry technologies.
  • Leadership experience in mentoring and guiding technical teams.
