We are seeking a Software Developer-In-Test (SDET) to support our client ‘onsite’ in downtown Houston TX.
Onsite only. No hybrid. 1⁄2 days each Friday.

In this role the SDET will be responsible for test planning and execution for new and existing software applications, including hands-on:
- Review both business and technical requirements for software applications to ensure they are clear, complete, and testable.
- Cover all types of testing needed to ensure a high-quality application, including but not limited to:
- Feature/functionality
- Deployment and configuration
- Performance
- Integration
- Usability
- Track coverage, progress, and results of testing in the software application lifecycle management tool.
- Develop and supports test harnesses enabling rapid, repeatable, and reportable test execution.
- Automate test scenarios to reduce time and cost of testing over the application lifecycle and improve test coverage and depth.
- Track application quality and readiness for release by working directly with development teams to ensure issues are found and resolved quickly.
- File and tracks software defects in the lifecycle management tool.
- Ensure development and quality standards are defined and tracked.
- Monitor post-release software quality issues, triages them, and works with development teams to expedite fixes.

- Write/review test plans
- Update/create test cases
- Execute manual test cases
- Automate high value tests for automated regression testing
- Perform code reviews
QUALIFICATIONS (prior work experience):
- At least 3+ years leading/managing testing efforts for large software projects across multiple teams.
- 5+ years of actual development/programming or test automation experience.
- Desired: Working knowledge and experience with runtime memory analysis and code profiling tools
. - Basic SQL experience:
- Ability to create complex queries to analyze data
- Backup and restore data
- Model and create/alter data to support testing scenarios
- Strong communication and collaboration skills:
- Able to convey complex ideas verbally and in writing
- Work effectively with developers, DBAs, and business analysts
- Strong general IT application and networking knowledge, including:
- Load balancing
- Networking
- Active Directory
- .NET applications
- Messaging middleware
- Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere)
