Our oil and gas client seeking a Senior Software Developer with experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This role requires strong backend and frontend development skills, with a focus on data-driven applications that integrate spatial and operational data. The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on developer who can collaborate across technical and business teams to deliver scalable, high‑quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain applications that support GIS and midstream business processes
- Work with spatial and non-spatial data to build reliable, high-performance systems
- Develop and optimize SQL Server databases, queries, stored procedures, and data integrations
- Collaborate with GIS analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design sessions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and data issues
- Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in coding, testing, and documentation
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience with GIS technologies or midstream oil & gas systems and workflows
- Strong experience with SQL Server
- Strong experience in at least one of the following languages: C#, Java, Python
- Hands‑on experience with GIS platforms (e.g., Esri/ArcGIS, spatial databases, map services)
- Background in the midstream energy industry
