Senior Frontend Software Engineer; Search

Experience collaborating with backend and platform teams to define clean integration patterns

Strong understanding of web performance, bundling, and optimization techniques

Hands-on experience with Next.js or similar modern web frameworks

Deep experience with JavaScript/Type Script and React6+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience

Highly collaborative: partners closely with product, design, and backend to deliver end-to-end features

Comfort operating in environments with high traffic, high visibility, and real user impact

Strong systems thinking, with the ability to reason about frontend architecture at scale

Strong collaboration skills and comfort working closely with both product and platform teams

Familiarity with Microfront end architectures, monorepos, or shared frontend platforms

Strong ownership mindset, taking responsibility for frontend systems from design through long-term evolution

Excellent written and verbal communication; thrives in a remote, documentation-driven culture

Long-term perspective on maintainability, extensibility, and developer experience

Pragmatic approach to modernization, balancing ideal solutions with incremental, low-risk progress

Comfortable working in a codebase with shared patterns (monorepos, shared UI libraries, or platform constraints) and collaborating across teams

You invest in testing and quality practices that make large-scale migrations safe and repeatable

You think about frontend architecture as a product for other engineers, not just delivery mechanism

You’ve helped modernize frontend systems in production, not just greenfield projects

Experience working with or migrating large, complex, or legacy frontend codebases

You consider performance, accessibility, SEO, quality, and observability as first-class concerns

You care deeply about how technical decisions affect both developers and end users

You enjoy untangling complexity and leaving systems better than you found them

• Our cross-functional squads often involve deep collaboration with other engineering teams, designers, and product managers
• Your excellent communication, both in meetings and asynchronously via slack will be a key tool in driving success
• This role predominantly focuses on the frontend but comfort and knowledge of the full tech stack is a must as this role works closely with backend and ML engineers to build our complete product
• You will build the user-facing experiences that are powered by Machine Learning and Generative AI
• Full-cycle software development will be your primary function, but we’ll expect you to contribute in a number of ways, including advising on others’ technical design, reviewing code, participating in interviews, and mentoring less experienced engineers
• When you are building software, you’ll be doing more than just coding a ticket that is handed to you
• You’ll contribute to the code strategy, architecture, implementation, delivery, and operation of systems, end-to-end
• You’ll consider testability, upgradeability, scalability, and observability throughout the development process
