Purposeof the Job
The Strength and Conditioning (S&C) / Performance Coach will be responsible for creating and implementing strength and conditioning programs, designed to maintain the peak physical conditioning of Dash players. The role combines evidence-based S&C and on-field performance to enhance player availability, resilience, and match performance. A successful candidate is one who thrives in an interdisciplinary environment, working closely across departments to support the club’s mission and vision.
This role will report to the Head of Performance and will help bring the club’s Performance philosophy to life.
- Design and implement all strength and conditioning programs, including mobility and pre-activation programs.
- Deliver individualized and positional physical development plans aligned with game demands and periodization cycles
- Lead warm-ups, activation and gym sessions on training and match days
- Progress return to train performance work in collaboration with physical therapist and medical staff
- Conduct fitness assessments to evaluate players physical readiness
- Collect, interpret and report daily physical data
- Monitor and assess players’ physical development using data collection and observation.
- Use data to inform decision‑making around training load, recovery and readiness
- Present performance insights to coaching staff and players in a clear, actionable manner.
- Collaborates with Head of Performance and Sport Scientist to plan, deliver, and evaluate physical development sessions through in‑season and off‑season programming to maximize player development and performance.
- Collaborates with Head of Performance and Sport Scientist to effectively communicate player goals to individual athletes and stakeholders.
- Educate players on strength training, recovery strategies, sleep, and injury prevention practices.
- Create a positive, athlete‑centered environment that supports the needs of the Dash players.
- Foster trust, communication and high‑performance standards across the squad
- Maintain organized training spaces, equipment, and performance technology systems
- Support pre‑season testing, in‑season monitoring and postseason assessments
- Supports medical and coaching staff in training non‑travelling players when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum four (4) year college/university bachelor’s degree in Strength & Conditioning, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sport Performance or related field.
- Minium three (3) years of experience working with elite‑level athletes (i.e., collegiate, professional, Olympic).
- Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification, or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid Certification/AED
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment
- Experience working in a women’s soccer, professional sport, or high‑performance
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience with GPS, athlete monitoring systems and sport science technologies
- Experience with return‑to‑play performance progression
- Understanding of long‑term athletic development principles as applied to female athletes
