Position Summary
Assist members in designing, training, and maintaining a personalized exercise program. Ensure all policies are followed and members are monitored while in the Fitness Center. The Person al Trainer will design and implement safe, effective, and enjoyable fitness programs that will meet the needs of each member.
Essential Functions- Promotes and incorporates the YMCA five core values into all activities.
- Plans and develops individual fitness programs.
- Demonstrates proper operation and correct use of fitness equipment; assists with exercise techniques, and helps develop member’s knowledge of physiology and exercise.
- Maintains regular contact with members to regarding effectiveness and progression of their fitness program.
- Monitors fitness floor/room to ensure safe use of all equipment; responds to and reports accidents and incidents.
- Monitors the condition of the exercise equipment, including reporting any necessary repairs.
- Keeps the weight room neat and orderly, including cleaning the fitness equipment.
- Keeps accurate and confidential member records including health and wellness assessments, personal information, fitness routines and training schedules.
- Participates with fitness staff to develop quality programs to meet members' needs.
- Responds to members concerns.
- Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follows mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements.
- Meets timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance. Example includes but is not limited to Kronos Workforce Ready for review and approval of time sheets.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
