Purpose of Position

The Pilot is responsible for providing a superior air transportation experience with a safety record second to none on every flight. The Pilot is the face of Net Jets, delivering not only technically accurate and safe transportation but also an exceptional service experience for every Net Jets Owner and passenger. The Pilot is expected to wear many hats, achieving a concierge‑level experience that ranges from professional aviator to in‑flight service provider.

The Pilot is in full command of the aircraft at all times and must maintain a professional demeanor.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, take‑off, and landing per FAA guidelines, OEM checklists, Net Jets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and SOPs.
  • Greet owners/passengers pre‑flight, make introductions, brief them on the specific flight/trip, and provide weather updates and safety briefings.
  • Deliver in‑flight service as needed, including handling alcohol and catering.
  • Load and stow baggage and manage owner requirements (pets, smokers).
  • Act as the final authority on the aircraft regarding all operational matters and safety compliance.
  • Liaise with owners/passengers and Net Jets from arrival at the FBO to departure from the final destination.
  • Communicate maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) and complete related paperwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned depending on the assignment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
  • At least 21 years of age
  • 1,500 hours total flight time or 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R‑ATP certificate or 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification or 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R‑ATP certificate
  • 200 hours cross‑country (>50 nm) flight time
  • 250 hours fixed‑wing PIC
  • 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings
  • 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in‑flight, excludes simulator time)
  • ATP written completed prior to start of Induction Training
  • 50 hours fixed‑wing, multi‑engine time
  • Current FAA First‑Class Medical certificate
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit
  • Valid passport and authorization to work in the U.S. and travel internationally without restriction
  • Ability to work varying hours including day, night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong flexibility and adaptability to rapid changes
  • Capability to manage rest to be prepared for flight duty at all times
  • Duty may last up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days and may span different time zones and extreme weather
  • May be away from home for seven or more days and nights, staying in hotels
  • Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges
  • Must pass Transportation Security Administration background screening
  • Must have a valid United States passport and a valid State driver’s license
  • Fluent in English (read, write, speak)
  • Service‑oriented with a neat, well‑groomed appearance and ability to make a positive impression
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions while paying close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger‑service perspective
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 30 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects
  • Ability to work around animals during all phases of owner flights
  • Ability to conduct flights for owners who smoke
Base Salary Range

$86,015 – $117,706
