- Coordination and support of daily logistical operations.
- Make necessary ERP transactional inputs for shipments, delivery, expected costs, invoice approval and document retention.
- Provide expertise internally and externally as needed along with market insight, pricing trends, and regulatory changes affecting commercial activities.
- Maintain and audit processes used by HELM to meet or exceed existing requirements.
- Maintain and foster good business relationships and partnerships with relative logistics service providers.
- Responsible for adhering to and reporting quarterly spend for mode of transport.
- Identify solutions that will meet or exceed internal/external customer expectations with the intent to make HELM’s logistical operations add value to our overall business.
- Issue and elevate non-conformances to logistics service providers.
- Key contributor in continuous improvement activities to drive operations and cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with supply chain (SCM) on rail fleet utilization, dwell time, maintenance and repairs, repositioning, target freight rates, and lane volume expectations. Regularly communicate any changes or improvements.
- Monitor fleet utilization for each product group and proactively advise the commercial groups.
- Coordinate and initiate cross departmental synergies for utilization and support.
- Negotiate rail freight and lease contract renewals and target timelines to align with business needs and cost improvement drivers.
- Assignment, dispatch, and oversight of repair services to supplier/customer sites as needed.
- Coordinate with third parties for tracking and HELM rail data upkeep. Provide necessary reports as required.
- Maintain rates in third party server, and relevant accruals in HELM's ERP system.
- Master or Bachelors Degree
- Understanding rail operations and equipment specifications.
- Knowledge of chemical products, markets, applications & industries (preferred)
- Experience and competency in communicating to multiple levels of executive management
- Experience in managing time sensitive problems with cost effective solutions
- Active communication and networking, team- & business-minded
- Experience and interest in sustainability / marketing of bio-based products
- SAP (preferred)
