Dispatcher, Transportation Manager

- Monitors the status of shipments from pickup through delivery
- Enters shipment location, date and time into TMS
- Contacts carriers and drivers via phone, email or internet to determine driver location
- Escalates potential or existing service failures to Carrier Sales and Business Development
- Works closely with Account Managers, Account Executives and Carrier Sales Representatives to ensure service level expectations are achieved and clients are informed of shipment status
- Secures shipment and carrier documentation (bills of lading, PODs, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of US Geography
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Works well in a team environment
- Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- High school diploma or GED/Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Professional certification may be required in some areas.
