The Warehouse Receiver plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of inventory control, warehouse management, shipping, and receiving within the Newrest IAH catering facility. This position involves collaborating with the assigned team and coordinating daily activities related to inventory handling.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and Inspection: Accurately receive incoming shipments of food, beverages, and equipment. Inspect items for freshness, quality, quantity, and compliance with specifications. Ensure accurate documentation and record keeping (including Purchase Orders, Receipt Notes, Proof of Delivery, etc.).
  • Put-away: Utilize the warehouse management system (WMS) for real-time inventory visibility. Maintain the First In, First Out (FIFO) process during the put-away process.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory storage areas (Freezer, Cooler, and Dry). Monitor stock levels and replenish supplies as needed. Collaborate with team members to optimize inventory flow.
  • Quality Control: Adhere to food safety standards, including cold chain management. Implement HACCP guidelines for tracking food production. Report any discrepancies or issues promptly (including temperatures out of specification, damaged products, etc.).
  • Communication: Work closely with purchasing, kitchen staff, suppliers, and other relevant departments. Communicate effectively regarding inventory status, shortages, and surpluses.
  • Equipment Handling: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Other Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
