Shipping & Receiving Associate

Description

The Shipping & Receiving position is responsible for coordinating daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of materials and products.

Shipping & Receiving Coordination

• Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities.
• Communicate with the Production and Warehouse Supervisors regarding shipping schedules, deadlines, deliveries, and related issues.

Shipping

• Review order documentation, including part numbers and quantities.
• Prepare, package, label, and expedite shipments.
• Complete required shipping and freight documentation.
• Rate shipments and arrange carrier pickups.
• Maintain adequate inventory of shipping materials.
• Maintain accurate daily and weekly shipping schedules.

Receiving

• Coordinate the unloading, inspection, and routing of incoming shipments.
• Inspect deliveries for damage and shortages and document discrepancies.
• Reject damaged items and coordinate resolution with suppliers and carriers.
• Process defective parts returned for replacement or credit.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use shipping software.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate shipments in a fast-paced environment.
• English proficiency required;
  Spanish is a plus.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
• Work is performed in a manufacturing/machine shop environment.
• Ability to work additional hours as needed.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
