Hourly Rates: Sub Secretary - $15.98/hour;
Sub Clerk - $14.94/hour

SUMMARYThe Substitute Secretary/Clerk supports and works closely with the Building Principal and Building Office Staff to enhance the professional and efficient operation of the school so that the maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- General office duties including answering the telephone, filing, copying, correspondence and mail distribution.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of the HPS secretarial exam
- MUST PASS EXAM PRIOR TO APPLICATION.
Prefer prior clerical experience within a public school setting.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, students, staff and the general public consistent with the duties of this position.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure consistent with the duties of this position.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations consistent with the duties of this position.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists consistent with the duties of this position.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form consistent with the duties of this position.

- Computer skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power point and Excel, Power School, Google mail, and Internet. - Excellent organizational skills.
- Bookkeeping skills.
- Must know how to operate and maintain: copy machines, telephones, computers, etc.
