CS Partners (aka CSA School District) is hiring a full‑time Special Education Teacher for an elementary campus in the Hartland/Howell area. A valid teaching certification and endorsement in Special Education are required.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a full‑time Special Education Teacher to join our hardworking and collaborative team.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Administer assessments and evaluate student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Deliver direct instruction to students in various settings, including small groups and co‑taught classrooms, using evidence‑based strategies tailored to students’ learning profiles.
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, including academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional interventions.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other staff to ensure that students with special needs are included in all aspects of school life.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of student progress and services provided.
- Stay current on best practices and research related to special education and disabilities.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ensure regular and predictable attendance.
- Supervision of multiple students simultaneously.
- Establishing routines and procedures.
- Maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
- Creating and implementing instructional plans.
- Participating in continuous professional development.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Stand and walk frequently.
- Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat.
- Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year.
- Withstand moderate noise level.
- Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary.
- Assist/lift students as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for elementary or secondary education with an endorsement in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities, including experience developing and implementing IEPs.
- Strong knowledge of best practices and research related to special education and disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
