Plant Engineer
Howell, MI | On-site | $85,000 to $100,000 + annual bonus

Our client, an established manufacturer in Howell, is looking for a hands‑on Plant Engineer to take the lead on equipment performance, capital projects and continuous improvement. You'll sit at the centre of production, maintenance and leadership, with the authority to fix what's slowing the plant down and the backing to see projects through.
Easy commute from Brighton, Fenton, Hartland, Fowlerville and the Ann Arbor/Novi corridor.
What you'll be doing- Analysing manufacturing processes to lift productivity, efficiency and quality
- Leading equipment installations, upgrades and facility improvement projects
- Owning capital projects end to end: budget, schedule, vendors and delivery
- Improving equipment reliability and uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance
- Working alongside production and maintenance to troubleshoot equipment and process issues
- Running root cause analysis and making sure fixes stick
- Driving Lean and Six Sigma improvement across the site
- Keeping the plant safe, compliant and audit‑ready
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or similar)
- 15+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- A track record of delivering engineering projects and process improvements
- Strong troubleshooting skills and solid knowledge of manufacturing equipment, facility systems and maintenance practices
- Confident communicator who can influence across functions
- PE certification
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certification
- Automotive or high-volume manufacturing background
- PLCs, automation, robotics and industrial controls
- CMMS and reliability‑centred maintenance experience
- $85,000 to $100,000 base plus annual bonus
