Responsibilities
  • General Training & Comprehension – Learn and perform job assignments of the dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher positions and operate/teach others how to use industrial kitchen equipment.
  • Leadership Development – Lead small groups of line staff in food preparation, serving, and clean‑up activities on varying shifts.
  • Policies & Procedures – Provide leadership, support, and guidance to ensure food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met.
  • Reporting – Maintain records of income and expenditures, food, supplies, personnel, and equipment in report format to deliver to HCSG and Facility management.
  • Training – Conduct staff training, quality control, and in‑servicing to meet HCSG standards; perform essential job functions of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher when needed.
  • Leadership – Handle managerial responsibilities such as payroll submission, staffing patterns, coaching, discipline, purchasing, inventory, budgeting.
  • Communication – Effectively communicate directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators to HCSG staff.
  • Safety – Use protective gear; manage cleaning solutions safely; report equipment/cleaning product needs; follow infection control and universal precautions; ensure sanitation.
  • Punctuality – Consistent attendance, punctual arrival, timely completion of assigned tasks, respond to paging system.
  • Customer Experience – Represent HCSG respectfully, courteous, and cooperative with supervisors, coworkers, and client staff.
  • Resident Experience – Positive, pleasant, tactful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.
Qualifications
  • Positive attitude and ability to follow oral/written instructions; perform routine repetitive tasks.
  • After training, use leadership skills to accomplish responsibilities without supervision and avoid injury.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality (preferred).
  • Specialized training in food service management and nutrition required; proof of CFP Food Protection Manager course within first 14 days.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) course participant or state/county certification.
  • Achieve eLuminate Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long‑Term Care Food Service (LTC‑FSM) certifications within 60 days.
  • Two years of experience in quantity food production/service, dining/nutrition, and personnel supervision desired.
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining records and web‑based reporting.
  • MAY be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course.
  • Must be available to work as scheduled and on time.
  • Compliance with COVID‑19 Vaccination Policies.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, stand, sit, bend, walk for extended periods.
  • Perform routine repetitive tasks continuously.
  • Work around food and cleaning products.
  • Live in the service area.
