ABOUT TRINITY HEALTH LIVINGSTON Med/SurgWe’re currently seeking compassionate, reliable Med/Surg nurses to join our 25-bed unit at a small community hospital. Our team provides care for a wide variety of adult patients with medical and post-surgical needs, offering a strong foundation in clinical skills, time management, and teamwork. Whether you’re early in your nursing career or looking to return to the fundamentals of bedside care, this unit offers a solid, well-rounded experience.

What you will do- Gather and analyze patient information
- Develop, implement, evaluate and revise an individualized plan of care
- Use teach‑back methodology to educate patient and family
- Actively seek to prevent potential hospital acquired complications
- Effectively communicate patient status, priority goals and interventions during consultations, rounds and handoffs
- Follow all HIPAA policies and procedures
- Behave in accordance with the mission, vision and values of St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals
Weekend Alternative 36 hours/week nights. To be eligible, a colleague must work a minimum of forty‑eight (48) out of fifty‑two (52) weekends per year. The four weekends not worked must be requested in advance and have department approval.
Required QualificationsEducation
:
Graduation from a school of nursing that results in the ability of the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.
Licensure
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS.
- ACLS required for the following departments:
Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency.
Experience
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or agree in writing to obtain a BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
- Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age‑specific needs.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of the job description.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.
