Campus Dining & Event Services Cashier

SUMMARY:

The Campus Dining & Event Services Assistant/Cashier plays an important role in creating a warm, welcoming, and high-quality dining experience for Cleary University students, employees, and guests. This part-time position (up to 29.5 hours per week) offers an afternoon schedule and the unique option to take summers off — perfect for someone looking for flexibility and a positive, community-oriented work environment.

In this role, you’ll support daily operations at Clancy’s Café (student dining) and assist with Cleary University events — from campus gatherings to community celebrations — ensuring every guest enjoys great service and a friendly atmosphere.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Set up the student dining room and event spaces, ensuring hospitality and service standards are met or exceeded.
• Ensure all areas are clean, organized, and maintained to high cleanliness standards throughout shifts.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including storing reusable goods, cleaning equipment, and organizing spaces.
• Act as a liaison with kitchen staff to maintain proper food service temperatures and replenish food items as needed during events.
• Adhere to health, safety, and university regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma required; two years of experience in food service operations preferred.
• Must be available afternoons and early evenings, until 8pm.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds and work in a moderately noisy environment.
