As a part of the Optum Care network, Riverside Medical Group is seeking a Senior Certified Medical Assistant to join our growing team in New Jersey. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Initiates Clinical office operations and assists physicians with a wide range of healthcare services and procedures. Provides daily supervision of the support staff for the clinical area to ensure the smooth operation of the office
  • Oversees the daily clinical flow, schedules and functions, ensuring all site medical assistants provide quality medical treatment. When needed, train other medical assistants to improve performance and skill
  • Escort patients, obtain health history, check vital signs and perform EKGs
  • Administer injections and collect specimens
  • Document patient care using electronic medical record software
  • Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls and complete paperwork as needed

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program/school, or a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant
  • Current CPR card for Healthcare Professionals (BLS) or willing to obtain within 90 days
  • 2+ years of back office Medical Assistant experience
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements.
