Junio Software Developer - Technical Support Engineer

Experience Required

Must have a relevant University Degree in Mechatronics, Computer Science or Electronics and Software or equivalent level of Apprenticeship.

An excellent opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer to join an established, dynamic and exciting team of development Engineers working on bespoke manufacturing equipment from new state of the art premises just off the M1 between Sheffield and Leeds. The role will be focused on testing machines and newly created software, creating associated Technical Documentation and communicating confidently with colleagues and customers alike.

The role also includes customer facing responsibilities providing installation support and customer training.

• Testing machines / testing software
• Customer machine installations
• Running samples and providing concise accurate data for Customers / Sales Support
• Generating Professional Documentation
• Doing Customer Training (both on and off site)
• Troubleshooting Issues (both on and off site)
• Software – should be able to demonstrate an appreciation of software – but would not need to be an experienced programmer
• Provide assistance and support to the Senior Programmers

• .Net8 to a basic level
• Internal training on programming would be given on an ongoing basis
• On the job training in software writing / debugging
• Proficient with basic tools and confident with basic low voltage control systems

• Does not need career experience, but needs to show practical skills
• Ideal for a new Graduate looking for a long term development opportunity

Applicants will work closely with the Software Engineering Team, working in conjunction with them and the development team on a wide range of projects, helping to develop, document and deliver new products and enhancing existing ones. A willingness to travel, full driving licence and passport will be essential for the completion of the role.

A passion for involvement and adding value combined with an interest in software, developing new skills and working on actual innovative products will be essential.
