Parts Manager Opportunity Summary
As Parts Manager you will direct and coordinate the activities of a Parts Department, working in cooperation with the Service and Sales Department to develop and maintain a satisfied and loyal customer base through excellent customer service.
Job Duties- Supervisory responsibilities:
assigning and directing work for all people in the parts department. - Coaches and counsels employees to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction and inventory accuracy.
- Participates in hiring and termination activities.
- Conducts performance and salary appraisals.
- Develops employees for future roles.
- Inventory management
- Responsible for inventory replenishment.
- Investigate and correct order strategies that do not produce the desired inventory levels.
- Review and adjust order controls for parts meeting exception criteria.
- Account management
- Inside sales support for large and/or important accounts.
- Ordering and expediting orders.
- Advising customers.
- Maintain relationships with certain customers, including outside sales calls.
- Bid preparation
- Work with vendors for competitive pricing.
- Support outside salespeople (marketing/new product rollouts).
- Meet regularly with Service Management to review the Parts Department's performance in support of the Service operation.
- Review open service issues regularly, identifying and correcting procedural issues impacting overall customer satisfaction in the Service Department.
- Review mandatory inventory exception reports impacting inventory values and correct entries to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Assign other inventory exception reports to be reviewed and corrected and oversee the successful completion.
- Investigate cycle count exceptions and adjust inventory as needed to assure inventory accuracy.
- Determine root cause of inventory inaccuracies and implement corrective action.
- Review financial and performance reports to determine whether divisional and corporate objectives are being obtained.
- Participate in forecasting future business results.
- Identify areas of concern and determine corrective action.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in all parts areas, complying with EPA, OSHA, and corporate regulations.
- Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, leadership, and customer service orientation.
- Experience successfully growing parts revenue.
- Computer and software skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
