Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Day shift Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Midnight shift Monday through Thursday from 7:00 pm to 5:30 am. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Summary / Objective

Packager assembles variety of packaging such as boxes or crates, labels and records what is packed, inspects packaging for tears, cracks and dents, and ensures the materials inside are packed in a way to minimize breakage during transit.

Essential Functions

• Effectively measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
• Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
• Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
• Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in specified areas such as loading docks.
• Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders.
• Effectively navigate and input information through company software.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands

These demands are representative of those that must be met to perform essential functions. The employee must regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and climb all day. Must frequently lift or move items up to 40 pounds daily. Vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment.

No travel is expected for this position.

Required

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED diploma. Three to six months’ related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• High school diploma or GED diploma.
• Six plus months’ work related experience or training.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Forklift Operator License.
