ELLWOOD Aluminum is expanding. We are moving to a 24/7 operation and hiring hard‑working individuals! As a family‑owned company, we hire, pay, and promote based on performance and experience. For individuals with heavy manufacturing experience wages can start up to $24.00/hr, with a $2.00/hr night differential. If you have little or no experience but want a career in one of the fastest growing companies in the area, the starting wage is $17.50/hr, also with the night shift differential.
ResponsibilitiesThe Finishing Operator is responsible for operating finishing equipment to prepare aluminum product for shipping. You will learn to safely operate homogenizing furnaces, cooling chambers, band saws, lathes, and other equipment in the Finishing area. The operator receives cast product from upstream production and follows the product routing to produce and ship a finished product.
ShiftsMost shifts are continental: 12‑hour shifts, steady days or steady nights. The rotation is 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on – THEN 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, and the rotation restarts. This schedule is ideal for those seeking work‑life balance, working approximately 17 days a month and getting two 3‑day weekends off in each rotation.
The schedule remains consistent unless you move to another shift or department.

- Physical effort required: standing, stooping, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds

- Ability to identify problems, inform others, and assist in solving them
- Judgment and decision‑making to prevent errors, scrap parts, safety hazards, or other poor results pertaining to job duties
- Ability to read and interpret work documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, quality instructions, and other related documents
- Ability to work with others as a team
