Overview
Ellwood Aluminum is expanding. We are moving to a 24/7 operation and hiring hard working individuals! As a family-owned company, we hire, pay and promote based on performance/experience. For individuals with heavy manufacturing experience our wages can start up to $24.00/hr we also have a night differential of $2.00/hr on top of the regular hourly wage. If you have no or little experience but want a career in one of the fastest growing companies in the area, our starting wage is $17.50/hr (also with an opportunity for the $2.00/hr night shift differential).
PositionCasting Operator: The Aluminum Production Casting Operator performs tasks related to the casting of aluminum, such as preparing the casting area for production, beginning and maintaining the cast, collecting samples, and aiding other departments as needed. This role requires you to be comfortable working with hot metal.
ShiftsMost shifts are continental. These are 12-hour shifts, steady days or steady nights:
- 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on – THEN 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, rotation restarts
It is a perfect shift for work-life balance. You work approximately 17 days a month and get two 3-day weekends off in every rotation. Your schedule does not change unless you move to another shift or department.

- High school diploma or GED, or working toward this
- Legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Must pass minimal physical test and background screening
- Candidates must be able to work any shift (must specify which shifts)
- Physical effort: standing, stooping, pulling, pushing, climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to cross-train
- Identify problems, inform others, and assist in solving them
- Judgment and decision-making to prevent errors, scrap parts, safety hazards
- Ability to read and interpret work documents
- Ability to work with others as a team
