Unit:
Huber Heights Medical Imaging

Shift: Full Time - Monday to Thursday 10:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

• Independently performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture.
• Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the MRI scanner including MRI safe practices.
• Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties to maintain equipment in good working condition.
• May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs.
• Performs MRI procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates MRI studies for technical image quality.
• Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the MRI procedure.
• Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed MRI safety standards. Performs daily and weekly QC as required.
• Prepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practices sterile techniques.
• Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
• Coordinates patient care with other areas to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
• Educates patients and families regarding procedures based on individual needs and explains the exam.
• Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required; verifies a signed physician order and ensures it corresponds with the billed procedure.
• Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.

  Medical Imaging Sciences to include additional MRI physics coursework or completed within 6 months of hire
• Licensure/Certification/Registration
• CPR Certification required
• MRI registry preferred
• ODH licensure preferred
• ARRT RT (R) registry required

  Required:
  
  No prior job-related work experience
• Preferred experience:
  
  One year MRI experience preferred

• Cross-sectional anatomy
• American College of Radiology (ACR) MRI Safe Practice Guidelines
• Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage
• Knowledge of advanced MRI computer applications
