Job Title:
MRI Tech
Unit:
Huber Heights Medical Imaging
Shift: Full Time - Monday to Thursday 10:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Facility:
Huber Heights Medical Imaging
- Independently performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture.
- Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the MRI scanner including MRI safe practices.
- Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties to maintain equipment in good working condition.
- May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs.
- Performs MRI procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates MRI studies for technical image quality.
- Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the MRI procedure.
- Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed MRI safety standards. Performs daily and weekly QC as required.
- Prepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practices sterile techniques.
- Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
- Coordinates patient care with other areas to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
- Educates patients and families regarding procedures based on individual needs and explains the exam.
- Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required; verifies a signed physician order and ensures it corresponds with the billed procedure.
- Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.

Medical Imaging Sciences to include additional MRI physics coursework or completed within 6 months of hire - Licensure/Certification/Registration
- CPR Certification required
- MRI registry preferred
- ODH licensure preferred
- ARRT RT (R) registry required
- Experience
Required:
No prior job-related work experience - Preferred experience:
One year MRI experience preferred
- Cross-sectional anatomy
- American College of Radiology (ACR) MRI Safe Practice Guidelines
- Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage
- Knowledge of advanced MRI computer applications
