Job Description
Locate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities including, but not limited to, telephone, electric power, cable television, gas, fiber optic, water, and sewer lines. This position ensures compliance with client and state requirements. Duties include observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations, using multiple methods. Technicians can work independently or in a team under an assigned supervisor.

- Locate and verify utility locations for customers using transmitter connections to buried facilities, pedestals, etc.
- Work in various terrains and weather conditions in construction zones, residential, commercial, industrial, and rural areas.
- Interpret job orders, blueprints, and maps to efficiently route and perform duties.
- Perform locates and emergency/on-call locates as needed to meet customer needs.
- Communicate effectively with customers, co-employees, and third parties to ensure a damage-free environment.
- Operate with knowledge of technology and tools required for the job.
- Collaborate with others in a supervised team environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalency (GED)
- State-issued driver’s license
- Ability to problem solve and read/interpret prints
- Vacuum truck experience (A+)
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs and to walk/stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication skills
- Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years)
- Pass a DOT drug test
- All employees are assigned necessary technology and work vehicles to perform duties
- Tools provided, including: company vehicle, laptop, and smartphone; personal protective equipment
- Job Type: Full-time

- Schedule:
10-hour shift, Monday to Friday, on call; weekends as needed
