ITP Aero UK are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our growing team in Hucknall - UK on a full-time permanent basis, 37 hours per week.

Your main responsibilities / What you will do
  • Lead, coach and develop the OGV Manufacturing Engineering team, setting clear priorities and building a culture of accountability, technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Own and control the Manufacturing Engineering deliverables required to realise product design intent, including methods of manufacture, production routers, technical instructions, stage drawings, PFMEAs, control plans and other Build in Quality artefacts.
  • Provide effective technical support to production to protect safety, quality, delivery and cost performance, with a strong bias for root-cause problem solving and sustainable corrective action.
  • Drive process capability, first-time-right manufacture and Zero Defects activity, reducing concessions, rework, scrap and repeat quality issues through robust process definition and control.
  • Lead OGV industrialisation and improvement activity, including NPI, rate-readiness, equipment/process validation, route optimisation, manufacturability improvements and GR8-style maturity planning where applicable.
  • Work with Operations and Maintenance to improve availability and stability of key OGV equipment and processes, ensuring technical actions are prioritised based on business impact.
  • Partner with Design, Quality, Metrology, Special Processes, Planning, Supply Chain and customers to resolve technical issues and ensure product flow through the factory.
  • Use data, structured problem solving and visual management to identify process risks, prioritise engineering work and demonstrate improvement in capability, cost and delivery performance.
  • Ensure Manufacturing Engineering outputs are compliant with applicable internal procedures, customer requirements and aerospace quality expectations, including robust configuration and change control.
  • Contribute to the future capability of the Hucknall OGV business by developing people, standards, tools, methods and technology roadmaps that support competitiveness and sustainable growth.
Key Accountabilities

Safety, Quality & Compliance - Ensure manufacturing methods, technical instructions and process controls support safe working, product integrity and compliance with customer and aerospace quality requirements.

Manufacturing Definition - Maintain clear ownership of the technical package released to the shop floor, ensuring changes are controlled, understood and effectively deployed.

Production Support - Provide timely engineering support to remove technical blockers, protect product flow and prevent recurrence of issues.

Industrialisation & Capability - Lead manufacturing readiness, validation and process maturity activity for new or changed OGV products, processes and equipment.

Cost & Productivity - Challenge existing methods of manufacture to reduce cost, improve yield, improve machine/process utilisation and support delivery of business targets.

People Leadership - Develop team capability, prioritise work effectively and create a collaborative environment in which engineers can deliver high-quality outputs at pace.

Cross-functional Leadership - Operate confidently across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, Maintenance and Special Processes to align priorities and decisions.

Who we are looking for
  • Has a strong Manufacturing Engineering background in a complex, regulated manufacturing environment; aerospace experience is highly advantageous.
  • Can lead and develop technical teams, prioritise competing demands and make balanced decisions across safety, quality, delivery, cost and people considerations.
  • Has practical knowledge of manufacturing process definition, process control, validation, configuration control and production support within a controlled quality system.
  • Can use structured problem-solving methods such as DMAIC, 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa and data-led root cause analysis to resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Communicates effectively at all levels, from shop floor to senior leadership, and can influence cross-functional stakeholders to deliver robust outcomes.
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment while maintaining rigour, discipline and compliance in technical decision-making.
  • Holds a degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials or a related engineering discipline.
