Staff Nurse – Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre

We'd like you to join us as a Staff Nurse at our Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Nottingham.
At the Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre, we offer rehabilitation, care, and support to people with a brain injury or other neurological condition. We’re committed to helping every person we support feel safe, happy, empowered, enabling them to live the best life possible. We provide a psychology‑led multi‑disciplinary treatment model to deliver a high quality, specialist service for those with neuro disability or acquired brain injury.
Facility areas:
- Fernwood (22 beds) – High dependency rehabilitation – For individuals with complex nursing care needs, including tracheostomies, assisted ventilation, persistent disorder of consciousness, or end‑stage progressive neurological illness. Residents receive therapy team input, individualized therapy packages, and on‑site tracheostomy weaning programmes where clinically indicated.
- Millwood (23 beds) – Neurorehabilitation – For residents who have undergone acute rehabilitation and need further therapy to reach optimum recovery. We provide a range of rehabilitation therapies to help people relearn and practice everyday skills for a successful return home.
- Hazelwood (14 beds) – Non‑complex care and neurorehabilitation – 24‑hour nursing input with a focus on individuals who cannot live independently. Support includes everyday task management, safety, wellbeing, and personalized activity participation, plus bespoke rehabilitation packages from our in‑house therapy team.
We’re flexible, so you’ll work a total of 37.625 hours per week, days & nights on a rota basis. This role will be fully rotational, working across the three distinct services on one site.
What you'll be doing:- Responsible for the nursing input residents receive, through nursing assessments and care planning.
- Contributing towards MDT working, risk assessment management and a programme of on‑going clinical improvement.
- Providing written nursing reports for a range of statutory and clinical review processes.
- Working according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker for a defined group of patients.
- Acting as a key member of the team, supporting each patient in achieving their planned outcomes.
- Ensuring a comprehensive assessment is completed for each patient/resident/client, providing a person‑centred plan.
- Taking charge of a designated clinical area.
- Ensuring all clinical documentation is of a high standard and notes are maintained accurately.
- Providing a highly specialised range of clinical interventions and knowledge of evidence‑based models of practice relevant to the patients’/residents’ needs.
- Working autonomously with confidence and competence to provide a safe service.
- Adopting a flexible approach to hours of duty to meet service needs over a 24‑hour period.
- A current NMC Pin registration (RGN)
- A legal right to work in the U.K.
- Up‑to‑date experience/knowledge of tracheostomy care.
- Up‑to‑date experience/knowledge in management of neuro conditions.
- Experience of working within a neurorehabilitation setting.
