Are you an ambitious Semi Senior Accountant looking to develop your career within a progressive and supportive accountancy practice?
Our client is a well-established and growing regional firm of accountants with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality advice to owner-managed businesses and private clients. As the firm continues to expand, they are looking to appoint a Semi Senior Accountant to join their busy Huddersfield office.

The RoleWorking closely with Managers and Partners, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Assisting with the management of a portfolio of clients.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts.
- Completing personal tax returns.
- Preparing partnership accounts and tax returns.
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns.
- Carrying out bookkeeping using a range of cloud accounting software.
- Supporting clients with their accounting systems and software.
- Attending client meetings and building strong working relationships with business owners.
- Assisting in the training and development of junior team members.
- Supporting with company secretarial work, payroll and P11
Ds where required.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing accounts for a range of business entities.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT and personal taxation.
- Experience using software such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage or IRIS would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to client service.
- AAT qualified, studying towards ACA or ACCA, or a relevant accounting degree with plans to continue your professional studies.
