Our client is currently looking for a payroll administrator to join the team due to continued growth.

Overview:

To ensure the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for employees, maintaining payroll records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and providing exceptional support for payroll-related enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

Weekly Payroll Processing

  • Process weekly payroll accurately and within strict deadlines.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and statutory payments.
  • Process timesheets, attendance records, holiday pay, and absence information.
  • Administer deductions including tax, National Insurance, pensions, attachment of earnings orders, and other voluntary deductions.
  • Validate payroll data and investigate discrepancies prior to payroll submission.

Employee Records & Administration

  • Process new starters, leavers, and employee contractual changes.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information.
  • Ensure all payroll documentation is stored securely and confidentially.
  • Generate and distribute payslips and payroll reports.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure payroll is processed in accordance with HMRC regulations and current payroll legislation.
  • Administer statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP, and other relevant entitlements.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and audits.
  • Support year-end payroll activities including P60 preparation and reporting requirements.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience processing weekly payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work to strict weekly deadlines.
