About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Huddersfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people with Special Educational Needs reach their full potential.
As part of the schools inclusive education team, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, speech and language needs, and social/emotional challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one or small-group support to pupils with SEN
Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews

What Were Looking For

Experience working with children or young people with SEN
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
Willingness to learn and implement new strategies
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
