We are looking for an experienced teaching assistant that is looking for a flexible work balance who would like to build their experience with SEN pupils. This position includes working in a mainstream primary school based in Huddersfield. This role requires someone with a patient, empathetic and understanding character. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact in young people s lives.
Work closely with teachers and support staff to help create a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment for pupils who may need extra support academically, emotionally, or socially.
- Working 1:1 or with classes of children with diverse learning needs
- Assisting the class teacher in managing behaviour and keeping students engaged
- Work with children of mixed abilities including SEND
- Follow school policies and procedures with regards to safeguarding and behaviour
- The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students
- Showing initiative and asking for direction if needed
- Promoting inclusion and ensuring all students feel valued and supported
- Has good working knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
- Has experience of supporting children with diverse needs
- Relevant qualifications or teaching assistant experience in the classroom (e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in childcare).
- UK experience as a teaching assistant.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to complete a new DBS.
