We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Huddersfield.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support, including those with Autism, SEMH needs, communication difficulties, and learning delays. You will play a key role in helping them access the curriculum, manage emotions, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small support tailored to individual pupil needs.
Assist in delivering personalised learning plans created by the SENCO and teaching staff.
Use patience and positive behaviour strategies to help pupils regulate emotions and stay engaged.
Build trusting relationships that promote confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
Adapt activities and resources to suit different learning styles and abilities.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress.

About You
Were looking for someone who is:

Passionate about supporting children with SEN.
Calm, patient, and able to build positive rapport with pupils.
Confident managing challenging behaviour in a supportive, professional manner.
Adaptable and able to respond to changing pupil needs throughout the day.
A strong communicator with a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Experience with Autism or SEMH is highly beneficial, but full training can be provided.
