About the role
A busy and thriving secondary school in Huddersfield is seeking a passionate and adaptable KS3 Design Technology Teacher to join their team on a full‑time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast‑paced environment and is committed to delivering high‑quality, practical learning experiences across the full DT curriculum.
You will teach a broad range of DT subjects to KS3 learners, including Resistant Materials, Food Technology, and Textiles. The department is well‑equipped, supportive, and highly collaborative, offering a space where creativity and innovation are encouraged. This role is ideal for a teacher who can bring energy, structure, and enthusiasm to hands‑on learning.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, practical lessons across all KS3 DT disciplines
- Plan, prepare, and assess work in line with curriculum requirements
- Support students in developing technical skills, creativity, and confidence
- Maintain high standards of classroom and workshop safety
- Contribute to curriculum development and department initiatives
- Participate in school meetings, events, and wider community activities
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong experience across Resistant Materials, Food Tech, and Textiles
- Confident classroom management and a passion for practical learning
- Ability to work effectively within a busy, supportive department
- Access to your own transport is advantageous due to the school’s location
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
