Cover Supervisor

Veritas Education are currently working in partnership with a number of secondary schools across Huddersfield and the wider Kirklees area to recruit confident, reliable Cover Supervisors.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience or those with prior experience in education who are seeking flexible work.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring that students remain on task and behaviour is managed in line with school policies.

• Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring students complete set work
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Supporting pupils to stay engaged and on task
• Reporting back to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour
• Upholding safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils

• Experience working with young people (within education, coaching, youth work or similar)
• Strong classroom presence and confident behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive and adaptable approach
• A commitment to safeguarding and supporting student development
• A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Veritas Education)
